Privacy Policy

What we collect on this website

• Usage analytics.We use PostHog to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, clicks, referring site and campaign (UTM) parameters, device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and errors the site throws. We don’t record sessions. It’s used only to improve the site and measure which content brings visitors in.
• Newsletter signups. When you subscribe, your email address is sent to Beehiiv, our newsletter provider, along with where you signed up (for example, which video or page linked you) so we know what content is working.
• Email you send us. If you write to us, we keep the message and your address to reply.
• Local preferences.Your light/dark theme choice is stored in your browser’s local storage and never sent to us.

Embedded YouTube videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode and don’t load until you click play. Once played, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies to that video.

YouTube data (OPTD Channel Intelligence)

OPTD Channel Intelligence is an internal research tool used only by the operator of the OPTD YouTube channel; no one else signs in to it. It uses YouTube API Services to read public video and channel statistics and, with read-only access, the OPTD channel’s own YouTube Analytics (views, watch time, retention, traffic sources, search terms). The data is stored privately on hardware we control, used only to analyze the channel and research content, and never shared, sold, or used for advertising. Access can be revoked at any time from Google Account permissions, and stored data is deleted on request.

Use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. See also the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

Who processes data for us

• Vercel: hosts this website.
• PostHog: website analytics.
• Beehiiv: newsletter subscriptions and delivery.
• Zoho: email.

Each handles data under its own privacy terms, only to provide its service to us.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link at the bottom of any issue.
• Ask what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing drew@onepersontradedesk.com. We’ll respond within 30 days.
• Block analytics with your browser’s tracking protection or a content blocker; the site still works.

Children

This site and newsletter are not directed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update the effective date above. Material changes will be mentioned in the newsletter.
